This new (and free) app was created by a local businessman whose four daughters play softball. Families can use the app to gear up their kids at a fraction of the cost of new and provide scholarship funding for youth teams.
Sports teach kids about perseverance, teamwork, grit and endurance. But the gear can be super expensive. What if there were an easy way to buy and sell gently used sports equipment to help lower the cost?
Mike Mason, a local tech entrepreneur and father of four, is changing the game with SecondPlay Sports, a mobile app that provides the first hyper-local marketplace for buying and selling used youth sports equipment in Central Florida.
Using SecondPlay Sports is simple. To list equipment, just snap a picture, enter a few details and post. Buyers can search by sport, age, size and distance from home and make offers to sellers via in-app messenger.
