The American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) 13th Tour de Cure in central Florida will be even bigger and better than ever. Regarded as one of the top multi-site cycling events in the country, the Tour de Cure offers routes for people of all cycling abilities, from 10 miles to 100 miles. Now, for the first time ever, the Tour de Cure will also include a 5k run or walk option as well. Hosted on March 25 outside the Lake Nona Town Center, the event will see thousands of people come together for one purpose: to fight diabetes and its burdens.
The first ride of the day will start at 7:30 a.m. but festivities will be going on until 4 p.m. Once participants finish their ride, run or walk, they will get to enjoy a celebration with live music, a Kids’ Zone for families to enjoy and complimentary food and drink from local sponsors.
Last year, the Tour de Cure in Lake Nona raised more than $745,000 to further the ADA’s mission of improving the lives of all who live with diabetes. The ADA fulfills this mission through funding research to treat, manage and prevent all types of diabetes as well as research to find a cure; providing programs to support people living with diabetes; and continuing advocacy work to raise awareness for the disease as well as to protect people living with diabetes.
