Throw an Epic Kid’s Noon Year’s Eve Celebration… Grab a noisemaker and party like it’s 2022!
When you have young children, planning New Year’s Eve can be tricky. In theory, it sounds nice to usher in January 1 together, but the reality is you’ll likely have to deal with sleepy (not to mention cranky) kiddos if you try keeping them up until midnight. But there’s a way to have fun without the sleepiness: Celebrate at noon instead!
Molly Shapiro Boe of The Preppy Hostess, recommends these creative ways to end 2021 in the most fun and festive way possible:
Dress Up
Just because the sun is still out doesn’t mean you can’t rock statement-making styles. From feather boas and NYE crowns to sparkly top hats and bowties, a celebratory dress code is a must. Make a photo station with props to capture the moment.

Create a Wish Wand
This clever craft keeps children entertained while also giving them an opportunity to think about the year ahead. Fashion a wand out of construction paper and a popsicle stick. Then encourage guests to write their 2022 wishes on the wand with markers. Decorate with pom poms, gems, paint and other fun embellishments. The best part? This creative keepsake also lets kids see how many wishes come true in the New Year.

Sweeten Your Tablescape
Serve a donut cake! Stack donuts on a cake stand and adorn with star-themed party picks. This tasty treat also doubles as a magical centerpiece.

Don’t Skimp on Sparkle
If there’s ever a time to go all out on glittery décor, it’s now. Think metallic plates, napkins and confetti! Another adorable (and Insta-worthy) accent is serving punch or sparkling cider in plastic straw glasses shaped like disco balls.
Have a Countdown!
Ring in the New Year with a traditional countdown. Give a heads up when it’s almost noon so guests can grab a noisemaker and gather together. Once the clock strikes 12, have a dance party. After all, there’s nothing better than celebrating with great tunes and friends!
