Have you heard about Rollins Museum of Art’s family programming? Not only are there both in-person and online opportunities for families to engage with, learn about and even make art, but everything is completely FREE!
This fall, Rollins Museum of Art (RMA) opens its doors early on the second Saturday of each month, exclusively for families to participate in Family Studio. Guided by museum educators, children ages 5-10 and their favorite adult get a kids-sized tour, expanding their imaginations with an up-close look at individual works of art created by artists from around the globe. Settle in for a storybook reading to deepen your understanding of the artistic themes in works on view. Then it’s artmaking time!
Tables and chairs line the large windows of RMA’s front gallery overlooking the beauty of the Rollins College campus as you and your child each create your own original piece of art. From sun catchers to printmaking to origami, there’s always something new to experience.
“I’ve always enjoyed visiting this museum and I’m glad I can now share that experience with [my granddaughter]. We had a lot of fun, thank you.”
You can even continue your artmaking online via RMA’s YouTube channel. Their Studio Saturday playlist features more than 40 artmaking activities with new ones coming this fall. Be sure to subscribe!
No wonder Rollins Museum of Art was selected Best Arts Education in the 2023 Best of Orlando. Learn more about RMA’s family programs and register for Family Studio on RMA’s website.
