Family-friendly Farmers’ Markets

I don’t know about you, but I sure do love a farmers market. Not only can you buy some of the freshest locally grown produce, but you can sample great food and products, listen to sweet jams and blow the stink off your kids. Here are some of our favorites in the Orlando Metro area.

Lake Mary Farmers Market
At Lake Mary City Hall
Saturdays, 9 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

  • Located in Central Park at Lake Mary City Hall, at the heart of the Downtown Lake Mary. A beautiful canopy of trees covers the market for a break from the sun.
  • PLAY Tip: Enjoy boutiques and restaurants in the surrounding Downtown Lake Mary or make a day of it with a family bike ride on the nearby Cross Seminole Trail.

Maitland Farmers Market
At Lake Lily
Sundays, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

  • Enjoy the views of beautiful Lake Lily while shopping and sampling local products and produce at the Maitland Farmer’s Market. From plumerias to plums and cajun cuisine to canine treats, this market offers a variety of things for everyone in your family.
  • PLAY Tip: The playground offers a great place to entertain the little ones, and the live music adds to the positive vibes.

Orlando Farmers Market
At Lake Eola Park
Sundays, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

  • A tried and true old stand-by, the Orlando Farmers Market at Lake Eola on Sundays boasts fresh local produce, baked goods, cheeses, homemade crafts and jewelry, henna artists, and the best kettle corn in town. You can even bring your furry friend and enjoy a beer in the beer garden with live music starting at noon.
  • PLAY Tip: Lake Eola also has a playground within walking distance, the iconic swan boats for adventuring and picturesque views for selfie-taking.

Oviedo Farmer’s Market
At Lawton House
1st Saturdays (monthly), 8 a.m.–1 p.m.

Oviedo Farmers’ Market: First Saturdays
  • This hometown market brings the community together around the historic Lawton House where families gather to buy local vegetables, beautiful plants, artisanal items, local meat and even treats like pickles and cake pops!
  • PLAY Tip: This farmers market offers an impressive LEGO build table for kids and is adjacent to Friendship Park (one of the best playgrounds in Oviedo).

Parramore Farmers Market
At Orlando City Stadium
Saturdays, 8 a.m.–1 p.m.

  • My in-the-know friends tell me to check out Orlando’s newest farmers market, located on the east side of the Orlando City Soccer Stadium. The City of Orlando received a grant to create this farmers market in order to provide access to fresh, healthy food in West Orlando neighborhoods that have been deemed as “food deserts.” This program will also help give residents the opportunity to start or grow a business and encourage entrepreneurship. Enjoy more than 30 local vendors and produce grown by local famers, including Fleet Farming and Growing Orlando. This is the perfect way to support your local Orlando community.
  • PLAY Tip: They took the summer off and will start back up in September.

Sanford Farmers Market
At Magnolia Square
Saturdays, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

  • The Sanford Farmers’ Market in Magnolia Square is right in the heart of the historic district and a great excuse to spend an inspired day in Downtown Sanford. In addition to the quaint farmers’ market, you can also visit unique shops, restaurants, tons of breweries and take a walk along the Sanford Riverwalk which is in walking distance.
  • PLAY Tip: Don’t leave Sanford without a quick trip to Fort Mellon Park which has an impressive playground overlooking Lake Monroe.

Winter Garden Farmers Market
Historic Downtown Winter Garden
Saturdays, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

  • Everyone, including your pups, are welcome at this amazing community staple in historical downtown Winter Garden. This family-friendly farmers market offers a large selection of vendors selling locally grown produce and baked goods, homemade soaps, fresh flowers, and even live entertainment.
  • PLAY Tip: There’s a free splash area for kids adjacent to the covered farmers market.
  • Bonus: This farmers market is in walking distance to Plant Street Market, an indoor artisanal marketplace that is home to Crooked Can Brewing Company.

Winter Park Farmers Market
At the Old Train Depot
Saturdays, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

  • Held weekly at the old train depot, the Winter Park Farmers Market is the place to be to not only enjoy an amazing breakfast from local food stands but to buy great produce and beautiful plants from some of Orlando’s best vendors. This popular market is a meeting place for many friends and families on the weekends, so get there early to beat the crowds!
  • PLAY Tip: Enjoy the fresh goodies you purchase with an impromptu picnic at nearby Central Park.
