A-tisket, a-tasket, come to OMA to weave a basket! Or a bowl and a sea turtle…for the Fall season’s first Art in the Afternoon!
Be inspired by the large-scale woven tapestries of Akiko Kotani, winner of the 2023 Florida Prize in Contemporary Art. Explore weaving techniques to create a colorful woven bowl, as well as a mini-woven sea turtle!
Come unleash your creativity! Students will have the opportunity to engage with authentic works of art in the museum, in addition to creating unique pieces in the studio. Students will explore the elements and principles of design, all while further developing their artistic talents. Ideal for ages 7-13!
